We love a good ski trip! We don’t love the tedious drive to Mammoth or June Mountain, the inevitable delayed connections through Denver to Aspen or other ski towns, and the schlepping around of yourself and all your gear that seem to come with most ski trips we’ve been on. We do love a fluffy bed and robe, delightful bar, delicious restaurant and cozy luxe environment for the pre and apres ski. Even better when the surroundings embrace the authentic old mining charm that make being in the mountains truly feel like an escape.

Love you, Lanai!

Our February trip to the idyllic island sanctuary of Lanai couldn't have come at a better time. We had just endured months of evacuations from Santa Barbara and then Mary lost her home in the January 9th Montecito mudslide. Arriving at the Four Seasons Lanai was like being enveloped in a warm, tropical hug far away from our rather harsh realities at home.

Spring Ski! The Goldener Hirsch Inn in Deer Valley, Utah

Park City has been a favorite getaway for us the last few years-- it is super easy to get to from California, incredibly quaint, and offers a plethora of skiing options. As all of you who are parents know, time away (alone!!) is hard to come by. When a visit from our mother dovetailed with Napper wrapping up a business trip in Salt Lake, we were quick to accept Lucy and my mother's generosity to stay with Ever while we had a much needed romantic ski weekend.

Spa for your inside and out: Miraval!

Our three night getaway to Miraval was a magical bubble of time where we were able to tune out the minutae of life and really focus on the big picture and ourselves. Although many may think of a spa as a place to diet and bust your ass working out, we found Miraval to be more of a spiritual and emotional recalibration. Sure, you may absolutely come to Miraval for the healthy cuisine, juice bar, exercise classes, nutrition talks and massages, but you would be so missing out to not go deeper!

Can we stay in school forever? The Washington School House Hotel.

After a rowdy bachelorette weekend of bunking with 13 other women in a house in Park City, checking into the Washington School House for a night was the luxurious calm after the most fun storm. The aesthetics are immediately soothing and inspirational all at once, blending historical charm with modern luxury-- dark oak floors reclaimed from vintage barns married with soaring white beamed ceilings, a chandelier composed of antlers and crystal, fluffy white beds and linens, farmhouse light fixtures-- can you tell we were snapping pix to pin on our home inspiration vision boards?
